Nativity 2021

Every year the kiln hosts a Nativity Tableau. In 2021, The Rivers Team, the Catcliffe Coffee Pot, Rotherham Neighbourhood Services, Catcliffe Cone Community Group, local Ward Councillors, with support from Morrisons Community Champion, Rotherfed and Rotherham Heritage Services, worked together to present the event which also featured an evening of community carols. Afterwards there was a social in the church.

Nativity

The Cone will again play host to the Nativity this Christmas. An addition to the scene this year will be a donkey. The event is organised by St Marys Church Coffee Pot, the Catcliffe Cone Community Group and Rotherham Neighbourhoods.

News

November 2021 saw the cone having to brave the first snow of the winter period. Nothing it hasn’t seen before in 300 years of service.

Halloween 2021

We set up a Halloween scene in the kiln. It was a big hit amongst the community and we hope to repeat it for next year.

Open Day August 2021

We held an open day in conjunction with Brinsworth & Catcliffe History Group and Rotherham Heritage Services. Artist Angie Hickman ran 3 workshops for creating Glass Decoupage designs on bottles supplied by Beatson Clark. The History Group set up a display inside the kiln and presented a video projection featuring images of local history.

The Kiln Illuminated

Illuminos presented a stunning light display for us in March 2021. When funds allow we hope to repeat the event as due to Covid we were unable to allow the public to be present. Hopefully this video will give you an idea what you missed.
